Sacred Geometry

Harmonics is the study of the rhythms and sub rhythms of Cosmic periods. It is a study that is rapidly taking a whole melange of astrological techniques and bringing them to a coordinated, simplified and unified whole.

Where once some methods of delineating a chart were considered to be superior to others, it is now seen that, at a level invisible to the eye, everything is connected.

That connection is through the medium of Number. Number participates in a continuum that unfolds in time and the properties of Number allow multiples of meanings to be used interchangeably to create the whole fabric of the Universe.

One of the greatest leaps in astronomical and astrological thought came from Johannes Kepler. Kepler's laws of planetary motion, and Harmonics divulge the connection between planets and cycles through the medium of proportion and rhythm. Through the further development of these laws, where once we only understood the Geometry of specific angular d ivisions of the chart, known as aspects, we now understand the wider implications of the wave motion they represent. As a result we have come to understand how those aspects might represent Vibrational qualities that resonate throughout the Universe.

In an outline of Kepler's Astrology, Wolfgang Pauli commented that, according to Kepler, individual souls have the ability to react to certain harmonious proportions, which correspond to specific rational divisions of a circle. In music, this ability is revealed in our perception of euphony or consonance in certain musical intervals. Our souls are said to be able to react similarly to harmonious proportions of angles that rays of stellar light make with each other when they strike the earth. In the case of planets, these are the aspects of traditional Astrology.

Although the original idea of a 'harmony of the Spheres' descends from before Christ, Kepler was instrumental in helping us to understand the inherent order and perfection of our World. As Sir James Jeans once said he (God) is addicted to arithmetic.

One branch of scientific thought that works with the concept of Number is Archaeocryptography. The A-cryptographer work with Ancient sites and monuments and explore their relationship to Number. In the course of their studies they have come up with some astounding information which can only lead one to surmise that although Kepler discovered certain laws, he was possibly only a conduit through which knowledge flowed from a greater Consciousness.

For it would seem that the Ancient civilisations possessed an understanding of Number, Geometry and proportion beyond any level we could have imagined.

For instance, in Wiltshire, England lies the megalithic structure, Stonehenge. This site once comprised of 30 stones with 30 lintels laid on top. The perimeter of the site is enclosed by a 360-degree circle. If you multiply 60 by the 360 degree circle you obtain the Number 21,600.

The location of Stonehenge is 51 degrees, 10 mins and 42,3529411764 seconds of latitude north of the equator which, when multiplied also produces 21,600 (51 X10X 42,3529411764) and yet the people of that time in history were not supposed to have known that a circle had 360 degrees of arc

What is this synchrony?

In Mexico there is a pyramid known as The Pyramid of Magicians in Uxmal. It is apparently one of the only ones to be square sided and round cornered. So it is the merger of two common geometrical forms, the circle and the square. If you square a circle i.e. 360 squared, 360 squared = 129,600 (: 120 54 = 20.000) Which is where it is to the west of the Great Pyramid of Egypt.

As if this wasnt enough food for thought it also emerges that Easter Island, Nazca, Ollantaytambo, Paratoari, Tassili n'Ajjer and Giza are all aligned on a single great circle around the Globe. Additional Ancient sites that are located within one tenth of one degree of this great circle include Petra; Perseopolis; Khajuraho; Pyay, Sukothai and Anatom Island.

So what does all this tell us?

An immense play of mirrors thus exists in an immemorial way between the macrocosm and the microcosm, the Creation and the creature, the Creation and the Creator, the creature and the Creator; and it is made possible by mathematics, because this is at the same time their common essence and their common reason. It is the only natural language, because it is the only one in which Nature expresses itself. And it is necessary to take literally this idea of expression: Nature is not only full of meaning, but full of a meaning which is not hidden, which on the contrary announces itself openly in the spectacle of the heavens each hour, each day, provided one knows the language in wh ich it manifests itself. Far from being contingent like the languages of man, mathematics conceals and reveals the secret necessity of things. Because of this, it is a sacred although natural language, or rather sacred because natural; perhaps even the only truly sacred language... (Grard Simon, Kepler's Astrology: The Direction of a Reform).

The work of the Astrologer is to translate these mathematical relationships and reveal the Geometry, or pattern, that our birthchart describes. For when all is said and done, we too are an integral part of the sacred Geometry of Creation.

Note: Some of the the above mathematical information was compiled from 'The Codes of the Ancients' by Carl Munck.

Astrology Refuted: They Should Have Seen It Coming

A comedian once showed a newspaper to his audience. The headline read, 1-800 Astrology Business Goes Under: They Should Have Seen It Coming. Everyone laughed, including me. We chuckled at the irony of a real contradiction here. If such a business could provide the service they claim, then its owners should have succeeded where other businesses failed. In fact, if they really knew the future, they likely wouldn't bother with this business at all. They would simply raid the stock market with a perfect investing record. We all somewhat instinctively know this, even those of us who have never had the occasion to sit and think it through carefully.

But this pseudo-science has another problem that concerns us. It's adherents who create the garden-variety horoscope columns (found in most any newspaper) spotlight a basic contradiction. On the one hand, they pretend to tell your future based upon the timing of your birth and the alignment of the stars and/ or planets. Philoso phers have called this assumption astral determinism.

This means simply that the stars and planets determine your future, hence the phrase, written in the stars. On the other hand, however, when the predictors finish telling just what will befall you, they move onto the next part of the column. They offer advice. But this advice you may take or leave, as though you have a free choice to make, the outcome of which no star determines.

So they assume astral determinism when predicting, and then assume its opposite when advising. One simply cannot have it both ways. The only way to resolve this contradiction derives from saying that the heavenlies determine SOME things, but not others. This avoids contradictory impulses, however, at the cost of engaging a purely arbitrary (pick and choose whichever you like) approach to what stars do and do not determine about your life. And yet their charts promise a principled (non-arbitrary) way to know the future. So this option makes no logical headway either.

Either way then, assumptions necessary to the trade of star-traffickers show themselves bogus. The whole thing turns out a useless mirage. Astral determinism thus represents a phoney idea, and we can show this with a little logical rigor.

Finally then, we wish to add logical insult to mystical injury by noting that our refutation of astral determinism posits a fairly clear and obvious problem for their trade. And like the bug who never quite manages to avoid the fast-approaching windshield -- they should have seen it coming.

Tarot Cards: An Introduction

What is the Tarot?

The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, featuring illustrations that can be interpreted in various ways. The deck is divided into two sections, called the major and minor arcana. The major arcana features the 21 trump cards, and the minor arcana is divided into four suits (wands, pentacles, cups and swords) each with cards featuring the numbers 1-10, an ace and four court cards (the Page, Knight, Queen and King).

Origin of the Tarot

The oldest known Tarot cards originated in 15th century Italy. The Tarot appears to have started life as a card game, and was at first restricted to the wealthy upper classes, although after the invention of the printing press, the cards became more widely available. Some writers have claimed (despite the apparent lack of evidence) that the imagery of the Tarot cards suggests a more ancient origin, and have connected the Tarot with such cultures and traditions as the ancient Egyptians and the mystical Hebrew Kabbal ah.

Later Developments

It was not until the 18th century that the cards became associated with the occult and mystical activities with which they are often linked today. This began in 1781, when the freemason Antoine Court de Gebelin made the claim in his work 'Le Monde Primatif' that Tarot cards contained hidden meanings (which he associated with the ancient Egyptians) that could be used for divinatory purposes.

Since then other mystic and magical traditions, such as the order of the Golden Dawn, have claimed that the Tarot has ancient roots, and that is has hidden wisdom to impart to those seeking enlightenment.

The Tarot's mass appeal increased with the publication of the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot in 1910. Arthur Edwards Waite was a Golden Dawn member, and in this new deck, drawn by the artist Pamela Colman Smith, images with occult symbolism were included on the numeric cards, as well as the trump cards. This deck was very successful (and remains popular today), and since then, hundreds if not thousands of diverse new decks have been published, with many enthusiasts creating their own.

Uses of the Tarot

The Tarot has several distinct uses, including:

1. Games

This was its original use, and it is still used for gaming purposes in some European countries.

2. Psychology

Carl jung was the first mainstream psychologist to attach meaning to the Tarot cards, when he associated them with the fundamental archetypes that he believed to reside in the collective human unconscious. Several therapeutic techniques involving the Tarot have developed from this insight.

3. Inspiration

Many artists and writers have produced works inspired by the Tarot.

4. Divination Fortune telling is perhaps the most commo n use associated with the Tarot. The images on the cards may help the person seeking the reading to tap into their own subconscious knowledge. Others believe that the cards themselves hold some kind of inherent divinatory power, which may be read by a skilled person. For this reason, handling another person's cards is generally frowned upon in occult circles, as their energy could become contaminated.

Doing a Reading

There is no set method for performing a divinatory Tarot reading. However there are several popular layouts or 'spreads', with perhaps the most well known being the Celtic cross. This is usually the first method taught to beginners, although it is by no means the most simple. Experienced Tarot readers will often invent their own spreads, with their own means of interpretation.

Once the cards are selected by the person receiving the reading, the reader lays them out in a spread and analyses them, taking into account the positions relative to e ach other, the symbolism of the individual cards, and their position (upright or reversed).

Meaning of the Cards

There is no generally agreed upon interpretation of the Tarot cards. They all have imagery of varying degrees of complexity, and the wide range of decks available makes the situation even more difficult. Nevertheless there is a huge amount of writings available on the symbology of the Tarot, and on the most basic level, the 22 major arcana cards are thought to represent the journey of the Fool from ignorance to enlightenment.

In addition, the minor arcana cards have their own symbolism. The numbers are most obviously associated with numerology, and the suits are linked to the four elements (Swords=Air; Cups=Water; Wands=Fire; Pentacles=Earth). The Tarot has also been linked with other mystical and occult systems such as the I Ching, astrology, and the Kabbalah.

Choosing a Tarot Deck

There is a huge range of Tarot decks to choose from . Two classic decks are the symbolism-rich Rider-Waite deck, and Crowley's Thoth deck, both of which remain very popular. The early Marseille deck (used by Gebelin to illustrate 'Le Monde Primitif') is another important deck, also. There are also many less conventional decks to choose from, and people with just about any special interest can find a deck to match.

Feminists, for example, might like the Motherpeace Tarot with its round cards and exclusively female imagery, whereas some of those interested in Paganism might enjoy the Witches deck or the DruidCraft Tarot. Tarot decks can be found representing animals too, as well natural imagery, various sports, and other common activities. In fact, whatever your taste, there's probably a Tarot pack available to match, and most can be found online as well as from bookstores, new age shops etc.

Where to Start?

If you're interested in learning mote about the Tarot, I recommend checking out some of the numerous ex cellent Tarot-related sites on the net (see the link in my resource box for some good starting points), as well as online and local book stores and new age stores. One thing's for sure - there's no shortage of information available!

Psychic Palm Readings

A palmist can tell a lot about a seekers personality from the shape and lines of his hand. Most character is genetic, and these hereditary traits are reflected in the many lines that are found in an individuals palms. Psychic palmists are distinguished from ordinary palmists due to their sixth sense or extra sensory perception, which makes them aware of things a common palmist cannot perceive.

Combining palmistry with a strong sense of intuition gives a psychic palm reader the power to answer a seekers questions with remarkable accuracy. For example, a persons HeArt Line reveals his emotional stability and romantic outlook; his Head Line reveals his intellectualism; while his Life Line reveals his physical health, general well being and how long he will live. On analyzing palm lines, a psychic palmist get s a complete picture of the seeker i.e. his basic personality, his talents, and his potential future. He then applies his intuitive and psychic talents to this wealth of information to bring clarity and unique perspective to the seekers questions.

Thus, there is a strong likelihood that a seeker will receive reliable knowledge about his natural talents, unresolved issues and the probable course of his future in consultant with an honest psychic palmist. The most frequently asked questions include: What does the future have in store for me? What can I expect from my life in terms of love, relationships, sex, and marriage? Will I find happiness? Will I be a wealthy person some day? Should I look for another job? Would I live a healthy and long life? Can I have children? If yes, which sex are they likely to be?

Are You Playing The Fool to Your Advantage

What does the appearance of The Fool mean for you when it appears in a Tarot spread? Do you get excited or worried? In this short Article we explain what The Fool means when he appears in the Tarot.

The Fool is perhaps one of the most important tarot cards in the deck. He is the first card of the Major Arcana, the first of 22 cards. He is also the only one of the Major Arcana to remain in our modern card deck, appearing as the Joker. His journey is at a deeper level the journey we are all on - the journey through life and life's troubles, as no matter how old we are or what experiences we have been through we will still contine to find ourselves in areas where we are unsure, and vulnerable.

The Fool has appeared in many guises over the centuries in the different decks that have appeared. In the Visc onti Sforza deck he is seen looking a bit like a tramp without shoes in his stocking soles, and threadbare at that! He carries a large stick or staff over his shoulder as though ready to commence a long journey.

In the Wirth deck he looks a bit like the court jester of old, and most like the forerunner of today's joker in the traditional card deck. He has however a cat with it's teeth sunk into his left leg, and a crocodile in the distance. The picture on this card seems to indicate the urge of The Fool to get on with his journey in spite of all obstacles both past and future. The Arthurian Tarot portrays The Fool as Parsifal who sought the mythic Holy Grail, and the Mythic deck depicts him as the Greek god Dionysus, wearing animal skins of many colours, and dancing gaily at the edge of a cliff.

No ma tter which deck we use the appearance of The Fool is a sign that we should follow our own path no matter what. We need to have the courage to jump off the cliff into a new venture if that's what is called for. We need to have faith in our convictions no matter how hard this might be.

There are risks to everything in life and the appearance of The Fool in a spread is a great opportunity for a new beginning provided you are willing to make the jump!

Inspirational Psychic Readings

During an inspirational psychic reading, the counselor uses his sixth sense to delve into the seekers aura and determine his subconsciously buried passions or aim in life. Far too many people experience a tedious daily grind at a job that they dont pArticularly enjoy; their aim is to complete yet another monotonous day, grudgingly accepting the fact, That's just the way life is. It's true that the majority invest so much time and effort into making a living that they neglect their hopes, dreams and aspirations, thus failing to live a gratifying life. And then there are those who are uncertain about what they want out of life.

Inspirational psychic readers believe that there are measures which, if taken immediately, will allow people who lack a focused vision to experience a life of their choice, rather th an being held hostage to a life characterized by unfulfilled aspirations. These counselors motivate seekers to take steps that most of them aren't aware exist, by asking them, do you know exactly what you want out of life? We all know, of course, that we want to find our soul mate, enjoy robust health, a fulfilling career, and be blissfully happy. But what we often don't know is what we should actually be doing, here and now, that will bring about these results.

Situations differ depending on each persons circumstance, but there are specific steps that can be taken right away to help the seeker realize his ambitions, regardless. If the seeker, however, does not have a focused vision regarding what he would like to accomplish, the reader quiets his mind and searches within for any indication of what might motivate him to take action towards a goal or passion that his inner voice has been urging him to do.

The answer may come as a whim to try something different to break the monotony or it may be a gradual awakening to a means of tackling an impediment he may be facing, but it is the first step towards a more gratifying existence.

The Perfect Moon

When we look to the night sky, most of us see a shining orb that changes size and shape and a whole bunch of pin-sized lights. It's now common knowledge that the Moon affects water movement on earth. The tides ebb and flow with the pull of the Moon.

We are made of 90% water, so it would make sense that the phase of the Moon affects us as well. No scientific research has been conclusive in this area, and so it remains theory - although widely accepted.

With such a powerful force above us, shouldn't we try to understand the Moon's mysteries? Start small. Try to pay attention to what phase the Moon is in. Is it actually full or does it just look full? Do you find that you feel different when the Moon is close to full? What about when the Moon is close to new and you cannot see it at all?

Tradition states that a waning Moon (decreasing in visibility) signals a time of ridding your self of negativity. Kicking bad habits, losing weight and releasing negative th ought patterns are examples of traditional waning Moon activities. The cleansing energy peaks at the moment of the new Moon (no longer visible at all).

A waxing Moon (increasing in visibility) is a good time to bring positive things to you. Start new projects, open your self to new experiences - love, laugh, live. These are the trademarks of the waxing Moon. This positive energy peaks at the moment of the full Moon (fully visible).

The Moon is actually only full for moment before it begins to wane, it is in constant motion. The concept of perfection can be seen in the face of the Moon. The laws of physics state: The only constant is change.

This leads one to further speculate that perfection, then, can only exist for a moment before it is lost and changed into something else. Unless, perfection is change and imperfection is stagnation. If the latter is truth, nature is perfection.

So much to learn from the perfect, unassuming Moon.
